2019

SPRING MEETING ON 18 MAY 2019

  • Rayda Lee-Nichols from Harley solicitors Lead a very useful workshop on
consent and GDPR. Those are topics we often think we know well but after
the interactive workshop we realised how little we knew about some aspects
and how useful it was to refresh our memory. We also unified our Vaser
consent form and made plans to do the same for the rest of the body
    contouring procedure.

2018

ROYAL SOCIETY OF MEDICINE ON 24 NOVEMBER 2018

  • Joint meeting of BABS with BACS (British Association of cosmetic surgeons). The two organisations have agreed to Support a common platform on credentialing and postgraduate fellowship program.
Both organisations have members that are very experienced in their relevant fields and despite the fact that they’re not on the specialist register they perform a large number of operations each year and have very busy private practices. The negotiations with the GMC on those issues are ongoing.

BABS SPRING MEETING 12 MAY 2018

  • This meeting covered immediate life-support case scenarios relevant to body
    contouring surgery.
It was carried out by a London based company specialising in delivering ILS
and ALS courses, who customised it to our requirements.
It was a useful learning tool for all delegates. Fortunately, we do not face
emergency scenarios every day, but because of that memory refreshers are
necessary in order to maintain our skills in providing immediate life
    support.
